Consolida is up every where. I continue to seed every couple of weeks.

Winter Sewing

Rain if forecast this weekend. I sewed these winter seeds. Jan 20. more rain in forecast, seeded again.


Rocket Larkspur Baby Blue Eyes Perennial Lupine Sweet Alyssum

Larkspur has done very well here in the past as have the Baby Blue Eyes. The perennial Lupine and Sweet Alyssum have been sporadic performers in my garden. I'll look for replacements in the future. A good replacement for the Perinnial Lupine might be the Arroyo Lupin, although it's an annual, it tolerates our heavy soil and humidity better.

I cast the seed by hand into the beds and waste areas even on top of heavy mulch. I plan to cast sand, grit and peat over the areas with heavier mulch to increase those seeds chances.

Campion and Larkspur

The Larkspur that was planted late is comming into bloom still. The Campion is still making a few blooms, 70% spent.

Woodland Border

Campion seeded this spring.


Peony as yet to bloom. Maybe this year.


These poppies have bloomed twice but the flower never stay on more than a few days. This type is supposed to like more winter freeze than we get. Our 16deg week must have been good for them. I may put them in pots for next winter so they will get more chill. I hate to have to pamper more pots for something that blooms for only a week though.

This Yucca does well even in dry shade.


These black eyed susans would probably like more sun but are doing ok with the hot afternoon sun.


The lambs ear seems happy with this location.

These sweet peas get no direct sun and were planted in late spring. They're growing very slowly.


Nigella planted this spring are a nice plant.

Stone Bench / Veggies

Zuchinni about to make some fruit.


Some nice blooms on the Sage.


Shelagh's Tomatoes are like a jungle.


Beans.


These Gladiolis are two years old.


Again the larkspur never dissapoints.


I added the miniature stock all around the bottom of the bench and near the pinks.


Sweet peas are in full bloom. They will succomb to the heat soon.
