Shelagh weeded and cleaned out the Purple Bed is not happy with it's sparse coverage.

This Verbascum has been blooming for months. I dont know where to get more of this color.

Ferns for the Front Porch

These new ferns aren't growing very fast. The old ferns in baskets have just about caught up to them in size in the nursery area.

Yellow Petunias

These yellow petunias are performing very poorly. I suspect they weren't fertilized when they were planted.

Abelia

20% These are healthy and blooming but the fragrance of the Gardenias and Magnolia over powers it's slight honey fragrance.

Impatients

Impatients are doing well. Shelagh said she wants to do them all the way to the front of the border next year.

Lavender

The Lavender likes the rockery. 50% This would be the Time to harvest for sachets.

Lobelia

All of these are set out now and blooming well. Some have been eaten. by what?

Butterfly Weed

Lilies

These look nice but have no fragrance.

Pruning has Begun

The Black and Decker Hedge Hog needs new batteries every year. And at $40 each I decided to go for a Weed Wacker gas model at $90. It's 5lbs heavier so I only have the strength to use it about 10 minutes at a time. It's also much stronger and sharper. It takes some getting used to. It's easy to cut off alot you didn't intend. And using it on a ladder is precarious.

Wayne St. borders

Cone Flowers are blooming.

The geranium by the Palmetto is surviving the heat.

This Ligustrum fell over on the Camilia this spring. I'll cut it down after it finishes blooming.

Daisies are about to pop.

Larkspur.

Wisteria needs a trim.

These pervuian petunias are healthy. The perinnial sweet pea is moldy and needs to be weeded out.

gernaium "monster"

The Nigella has mostly passed and the Nemophila is little more than black dust.

The Lantana should cover the bare spot left by the Nemophila. Larkspur still going strong.
