Activity

Seeded the following indoors and out.

The germination temperature for all of the above is between 65 and 75 deg. Air temperature is between 40 and 80. Ground temperature at 2" is between 50 and 60 deg. I'll use the plants started indoors to fill the gaps in those that don't' germinate outdoors. Some like Oenothera and Linum resent transplanting, so I'm not sure if they are worth the trouble of trying to start indoors.

Last week of January

Indoors
  • Started African Daisy (Dimorphotheca) indoors in liner.
  • Started Moss Verbena indoors in dome.
  • Moved Delphinium dome from cool dark to light/warm, 75deg. Watered from bottom. Removed lid. Delphinium Culture.

  • Sewed more Baby Blues eyes.
  • Sewed more Larkspur.
  • Sewed more Pernial Lupine.
  • Mulched with pine straw and ground pine bark compost.

White Iris Bed


The last Nemophila "baby blue eyes".


The Verbena moved here is doing well.

This bed needs fertilizer every time it rains.

Zinnias get pretty good sun in this spot. The edge of the house shadow falls just in front of this row.
